Gary Phillips is a founding member and senior partner of the law firm of Phillips and Lyon. Gary grew up in Chicago and first came to Arizona in 1963 where he attended Arizona State University and graduated in 1967. He then went to the Chicago Kent College of Law at the Illinois Institute of Technology where he earned his Juris Doctorate degree and then returned to Phoenix to practice law. In 1977 he joined Mr. Lyon and founded Phillips and Lyon. Mr. Phillips is a member of the Arizona State Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, State of Arizona Supreme Court, Illinois State Supreme Court, and American Association for Justice. He is also admitted to the United States Supreme Court, 9thCircuit Court of Appeals.

Gary grew up in the streets of Chicago, went to night school to obtain his degree, and knows if you want to succeed you have to work hard. He puts forth that effort in every client's case to obtain the best possible outcome in their significant personal injury, wrongful death, and medical malpractice claims. Gary believes a well prepared case leads to a successful and timely settlement. He is a compassionate personal injury lawyer who has practiced for more than 37 years and takes his job seriously. He understands the emotional aspects of a case and how it impacts the injured and their families. He leaves no stone unturned when he is working a personal injury, wrongful death, or medical malpractice case.

Mr. Phillips believes protecting your legal rights are first and foremost and the reason you hire us. Gary saw the need for a specialized area in the practice for handling cases which involved significant injuries. Gary developed the SIG Team, a very elite group of experienced professionals to handle only those cases that involve extremely serious personal injuries. Attorney, Henry Hester, is a certified specialist in wrongful death and serious injury and an intricate part of the SIG Team. Mr. Hester has been taking cases through the litigation process at Phillips and Lyon for over 20 years and his expertise in personal injury and wrongful death is invaluable in the courtroom as well as his relationship within the legal community. Additional members of the SIG Team include an experienced in-house investigator and three paralegals with combined personal injury experience totaling over 60 years. We also hire industry professionals such as registered nurses, economists and accident reconstructionists. These professionals play a key role in bringing a case to a successful resolution. Mr. Phillips believes it is crucial to build a personal relationship and repore with each client, therefore he takes most new client phone calls personally and insists each of his clients speak personally with a member of the SIG Team who is familiar with their case.
